On Saturday evening November 16, 2019, music history will be written. Under the direction of Principal Conductor Alan Gilbert Vivaldis, the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester will stage the "Four Seasons" in the world-famous Elbphilharmonie Hamburg in a previously unheard-of form. An algorithm calculated based on historical weather data changed the score of the classical work. With the change of Vivaldi's piece from 1725, the musicians want to make climate change unmistakable. The rising temperature, the frequency of weather extremes or the extinction of species are staged by the power of music. Here it becomes clear: The new image of the "For Seasons”, is not comfortable and falls out of the original musical proportions and balance. A theme that occupies the whole world! Hamburg is playing a pioneering role here and is already on the way to becoming a Climate Smart City.
